Anna Cody Racing chose  Team Fox Athletes as their charity choice for the 2010 season. We chose to race to raise money for Team Fox and to share our team's story to bring inspiration to all, teammate Roger Hurd lives his life everyday wtih Parkinson's , but he does not allow it to stop him from the sports that he loves. The story in its self is enough to inspire anyone, and with the support of generous donors like you, we can work to find a cure.

The Michael J. Fox Foundation has managed to become, in its short life, the most credible voice on Parkinson’s research in the world.” — The New York Times

Over 5 million people worldwide live with Parkinson’s disease, a progressive, neurodegenerative

disorder whose

cause is currently not known. The Michael J. Fox Foundation was founded in 2000 with one goal —

to accelerate

the delivery of life-changing treatments, and ultimately a cure, to people with Parkinson’s disease.

Today MJFF is

the largest private funder of Parkinson’s research in the world, with over $150 million in scientific investment to

date.

-  MJFF targets translational research, that area of therapeutic development between discovery

research and

clinical research.

-Our goal? Identify important discoveries. Prove their relevance to PD. Drive their

development and hand off into the clinic.

-  Our strategic focus is based on an understanding of the whole field. Our goal is to tackle

roadblocks and

obstacles that other funders have not tackled, but that if overcome would greatly accelerate the

pace of

progress in the field.

-  While we engage the best experts in the world in our efforts, our on-staff research team —

composed of

neuroscience PhDs and project managers — is critical to our ability to be leaders and catalysts of

action.

We are not passive funders. Our team actively engages with our grantees, assisting in

troubleshooting and

goal setting. If the science stalls, we will halt funding and reallocate it to more promising efforts.

When

research is promising, we proactively fund and work to advance ideas into meaningful partnerships.

-  Since inception, 85 cents of every dollar raised has gone directly to research program efforts.

We deliberately have no endowment, as we believe that dollars raised should be deployed as quickly

as

possible toward research that can lead to a cure.

-  Team Fox is the Foundation’s grassroots community fundraising program, launched in January

2006.

Team Fox has over 900 members all over the United States and a burgeoning international

presence. Raising millions of dollars each year, this diverse community of changemakers

continues to grow and everyday.
